Out 10 months...Already?!!

October 2011:

P-day was on Halloween, Monday October 31st!

They had a ward Halloween Party. "Hmong people love Halloween apparently. They went all out. There were over 300 people there, a lot of less-actives came" so that was perfect for us missionaries!

Brandon mentioned that his mission held a Multi-Zone meeting. "It was awesome, Elder Koelliker of the Seventies spoke to us!" "It was so awesome!!!! I love meeting the apostles." "Every time I hear them speak it just makes me realize how amazing this church is and how true it really is." "The church is true, yo!"

"The field is white..."

.....because it's RICE...fields that is!:)

The missionaries in Fresno have many opportunities to serve along side of the members. This particular day he absolutely loved working in the rice fields and getting his feet wet!

Finding strength!

Mosiah 24:15

"And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea,the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord."

"I love the USA"!!!! - Yosemite

Elder Allen is so lucky to have Yosemite National Park in his mission! It's a great p-day get-away! (Love the mission tag on the t-shirt)

October 24th, Monday 2011 - P-Day

"This week was awesome! One of the best weeks in a while, teaching-wise anyway. We've had more lessons this week then we've had for a while. We were able to find two new investigators this week on top of the 5 other ones we have. The work is going great here in our area. The hard part right now is getting them all to come to church."...

"We had a couple of lessons at Fresno State's Institute which is pretty cool. It's nice going there cause it's a really friendly environment for investigators and it's really easy to find people to help fellowship and befriend them. There are soooo many Hmong Kids going to that school too! It's insane! So many!"....

"BTW, I just realized, on the 13th a week or so ago, it was a year ago since I got my mission call and heard the word "Hmong" for the first time! haha! Craziness time is flying by"...

He's still the same as far as the "goof" catagory is concerned!

Elder Brandon is alive and well!!

Elder Allen preaching the gospel from the "Mountain tops!" (It's actually p-day, hence the hat and running shoes. Why he hiked in his shirt and tie?....who knows!:)
"Mama is taking over".... the blog

Last update was when????... February!!!??? He left when????.....January!

Brandon has a very busy sister and so I am attempting to keep this blog alive from here on out:) I'll do my best....

A bit difficult to update the past 8 months, so lets flash forward to the present. Happy October!

Brandon has been gone now over 9 months! Where does the time go?
Brandon served the first part of his mission in Merced, CA and a couple of transfers ago he was sent to Fresno. It has been very hot most of his mission! The weather should be cooling down now for a few months.
Elder Allen has met a lot of amazing people during his time out in the mission field! His testimony of the gospel and how it can change the lives of people whom Brandon has learned to love, grows stronger everyday. He's always trying to improve his language and has had some great trainers to help him along the way. He is now is a trainer himself, in his new companionship. "These experiences are for our good"
